Abstract Flagellar antigen of Bacillus cereus H.1 was purified and tested for serodiagnostic antigen by ELISA. The antibody against the flagellar antigen of B. cereus H.1 reacted not only with the homologous specific antigen but also reacted with the flagellar antigens of 23 strains of B. cereus . This common flagellar antigen of B. cereus was found to be due to 61-kDa protein by SDS-PAGE and immunoblot assay. Monoclonal antibody H15A5 against common antigenic epitope of B. cereus also reacted with flagellar antigens of 21 strains of Bacillus thuringiensis by ELISA. This monoclonal antibody reacted with the 61-kDa protein of the flagella of B. cereus H.1 and H.2 and B. thuringiensis Kurstaki HD1, Alesti and Aizawai juroi by immunoblot analysis. These results indicated that the common antigenic epitope of the 61-kDa protein existed in the flagella both of B. cereus and B. thuringiensis . 相似文献

Summary Regenerants derived from hairy roots of Ajuga reptans var. atropurpurea induced by infection with Agrobacterium rhizogenes MAFF03-01724 harboring pRi revealed a dwarfing response, i.e. decrease in leaf size, reduction in internode distance, and
increase in leaf number. These morphogenic alterations were accompanied by an increase in root mass and lack of floral differentiation.
In the pRi-transformed regenerants, the proportion of root mass to whole plant mass was higher than that of the untransformed
ones, although both kinds of regenerants were comparable on a fresh weight basis. High capacity of rooting and 20-hydroxyecdysone

Winged bean Kunitz chymotrypsin inhibitor (WCI) is encoded by a multigene family and accumulation of its mRNA is restricted in mid-maturation stage seeds and tuberous roots. In this paper, we analyzed the accumulation of mRNA derived from each WCI gene using a novel method: sequence-specific termination analysis. The results demonstrated that the accumulation of each WCI mRNA was differentially regulated in winged bean plants. 相似文献

Abstract Screening of fatty acid composition in 150 strains of marine microalgae, cyanobacteria and green algae was carried out, and 20 strains showed relatively high contents of palmitoleic acid. Among them, two cyanobacteria, Phormidium sp. NKBG 041105 and Oscillatoria sp. NKBG 091600, showed an unusually high cis -palmitoleic acid content (54.5% and 54.4% of total fatty acid, respectively). Phormidium sp. NKBG 041105 had the highest cis -palmitoleic acid content per biomass (46.3 mg (g dry cell weight)−1 ), and cis -palrnitoleic acid composition was found to be constant with varying temperature. These results indicate that this cyanobacterium could be considered as a new source for palmitoleic acid. 相似文献

Axonal transport of peptidylglycine alpha-amidating monooxygenase (PAM) activity was studied in rat sciatic nerves from 12 to 120 h after double ligations. The anterograde axonal transport increased and reached a plateau between 48 and 72 h and then decreased. The flow rate was 100 mm/day, and the molecular mass of the active entity was 70 kDa, which was determined by gel filtration. In contrast, there was no evidence for significant retrograde axonal transport. Anterograde axonal transport of immunoreactive cholecystokinin, a carboxy-terminal-amidated putative neuropeptide, was also found. These results suggest that PAM is transported by a rapid axonal flow and may play a role as a processing enzyme during transport or in the terminals of rat sciatic nerves. 相似文献

The primary purpose of this study was to test our hypothesis that the behavior of self-selecting the preferred ambient illuminance might be determined by a load error between the core temperature and its set-point. Seven female volunteers were asked to choose the preferred ambient light intensity by adjusting a rheostat from the time when they rose spontaneously in the morning to the time when they felt sleepy and retired. Rectal temperature was measured every 10 min. Their preferred ambient light intensity increased quickly and then gradually after they rose and rose to approximately 2000 lx over 3 hrs. It decreased gradually and then quickly to the time when they retired. We discussed these findings in terms of a load error between the actual core temperature and its set-point. 相似文献
